“Lumière, Lumières”, French Pavilion, Expo 2020

The first room of the Pavilion focuses on the notion of the Lumières, as a milestone in the history of ideas and of light as a source of life and energy.The highlight here is the exhibition of an original 35-volume edition of Diderot and d’Alembert’s Encyclopédie, on loan from the Archives Nationales. This first phase with the notion of progress allows the discovery to be extended to contemporary, but nonetheless related, issues.

Our role:
Museum Manufactory designed the scenography of the space, to enhance the volumes of the book. From graphic design to printing, from lighting to audiovisual production, we ensured the coherence of this space.
